WHAT IS MODEL UNITED NATIONS?

Model UN is a fun activity that empowers students to solve world issues! Students build confidence in public speaking, debating, researching, writing, and leadership as they step into the shoes of world leaders and work together to find solutions to real world issues.

CHSMUN competes in MUN simulation competitions throughout the midwest and is looking for dedicated students to help us defend our best prepared school awards.  ALL are welcome!  If students don’t know what they’re doing, we’ll teach them.  Students who enjoy debate and learning about the world, will fit right in.

By participating in Model United Nations, students learn:

  1. What are the biggest challenges facing the world today
  2. How to be more self-confident, especially with public speaking
  3. How to interact with other people who come from different backgrounds and perspectives
  4. How to work as a team to achieve shared goals
  5. How to take action to solve problems, on a local, national, and global scale

CHSMUN members build their college and career resume, enhance academic and social skills, network, and earn their Global Studies Diploma through our partnership with the World Affairs Council of Northwest Ohio (WAC-NWO)
