Curriculum and Instruction
Curriculum and instruction at Clay High School focuses on preparing students for college and career readiness. Effective instruction begins with high-quality academic standards that outline what students should know and be able to do at the end of each grade level. Ohio's Learning Standards are the basis for the curriculum maps, learning targets, and lesson plans our high school teachers.
High quality classroom instruction includes research-backed practices such as the use of formative assessment data to guide instruction, flexible groupings, and comprehensive interventions for students experiencing learning challenges. Clay offers a wide range of academic experiences to meet the needs of all students, including intensive instruction opportunities for students with multiple disabilities, emotional disturbances, and intellectual disabilities.
